Privacy policy

Last updated October 30, 2026

Meridian Mastery is a study app for the acupressure points and traditional Chinese medicine theory, made by Christopher Allen ("we"). This policy explains what the app does with information about you. The short version: your study data stays on your phone, there are no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and the only things that leave your phone are what you choose to share through the optional Friends feature and any lesson rating you choose to send.

What stays on your phone

Your lesson progress, review schedule, streak, badges, sprout, settings and whether you have unlocked the full app are stored only on your device. We never receive them. If you delete the app, they are deleted with it. You can make a backup file of your progress yourself in Settings; that file goes wherever you choose to save it. If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules the notifications on your phone itself; nothing is sent to us or to any notification service.

Friends (optional)

Friends lets you see the progress of people you choose to add. It is the only part of the app that needs an account. If you use it, we store:

This information is stored with Supabase, our database provider, on servers in the United States, and sign-in emails are sent through an email service. It is visible only to you and the friends you add, and is protected by access rules that let each person see only their own data and their friends' summaries. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers or use it for anything else.

You can delete your Friends account at any time in the app (Progress → Friends → Delete account). This permanently removes your email address, profile, progress summary and friend connections from our database. If you signed in with Apple, the app also asks Apple to end your Sign in with Apple for Meridian Mastery; Apple asks you to confirm this once.

Lesson ratings (optional)

After some lessons the app asks "How was this lesson?". If you answer, it sends: your rating (too easy, about right or too hard), any note you choose to write, the lesson's name, your score in that lesson, the app version and whether you use iPhone, Android or the website. Nothing else is sent: no name, email, account, device identifier or location, and a rating is never connected to a Friends account. Ratings are stored with Supabase on servers in the United States, can be read only by us, and are used only to improve the lessons. Because a rating carries nothing that identifies you, we cannot find or delete a particular one later, so please leave personal details out of notes. You can skip the question with "Not now".

Purchases

The one-time unlock is sold by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). They handle the payment; we never see your card or payment details. The app only asks the store whether your account has bought the unlock.

Things we do not do

Apple and Google may give developers anonymous crash reports and usage statistics if you have allowed sharing in your phone's settings. These do not identify you.

Name pronunciation uses your phone's own built-in voices.

Children

Meridian Mastery is a general study app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through Friends. If you believe a child has created a Friends account, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can use the whole app without giving us any personal information. If you use Friends, you can change your display name, reset your friend code, remove or block friends and delete your account in the app at any time. You can also email us to ask what we hold about you or to have it deleted, and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. If a change affects what we collect, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
